Instructions
- Mix the sugar, flour, cardamom, dry yeast and baking powder in a bowl.
- Melt the butter and add it to the milk. The milk is cold if you use a food processor. If you are kneading by hand, you should warm the milk to about 30℃ (yeast will die at temperatures above 35℃).
- Add the butter-milk to the dry ingredients and knead well until the dough is smooth and does not stick to your hands. Tip. You can knead for 10-15 minutes after mixing to make it easier.
- Cover the kneaded dough with a towel and place it in a warm place to rise. It takes about an hour.
- When the dough has risen, shape into muffins. Divide the dough into 16 pieces and form into balls. Place on a baking tray. Cover with a towel and set aside in a warm place for half an hour to rise. Then brush with egg and bake for about 10 minutes at 200℃.
- Prepare the cream. Add the vanilla sugar to the cream and whisk. Spoon the cream into the cooled muffins, cut in half, and garnish with jam.
