About me
I think I need to introduce myself, who I am, hiding behind the name Kitchenfantasies.
My name is Asta, and I should be all grown up, with two big sons and one little grandchild. I am from Šiauliai region and have been living in Norway since 2011.
My main activity is website/e-shop development and administration, and I’m interested in a lot of things – photography, food culture, sometimes I sit at my sewing machine, pick up a string or a wax iron. I like to fix/rework things – redesign – just to make things better for our planet.
I’m not a professional chef/baker, but I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and my motto there is – Use your imagination!
I started my food blog recently, although I had ideas before I moved to Norway. I just kept finding more important things to do, and kept putting off what was most interesting. But with my husband’s great support, I decided it was time – when else but now.
At the moment I’m collecting my recipes that are all over the place, exploring my old recipe book, adding a touch of fantasy and seeing what comes out.
I love what I do, I really enjoy it.
Some recipes end up on the Facebook page, others are written here, on my website and in the foodtips app https://app.foodtips.me I have the recipes grouped in this way, because otherwise I can’t keep them in order, and I often have what I call creative clutter.
I write in Lithuanian on Facebook, Lithuanian and Norwegian on my website. The foodtips app contains information in Lithuanian, Norwegian and English.
When I gather information, I collect what interests me most: interesting recipes, spices, food-related trivia.
I don’t subscribe to any diet, but there will be recipes (not all of them) that are calorie-calculated, and there will be some that could be used for low-carb, Mediterranean diets, or that follow the principles of some diets.
If you find what I’m doing/writing interesting – follow me, share it with your friends, write comments, make it together. I would be very grateful.
P.S. I’m wearing a cloud crown in the photo, so I feel a bit like a queen of the clouds.
