About me - Kitchenfantasies

About me
I think I need to introduce myself, who I am, hiding behind the name Kitchenfantasies.

My name is Asta, I should be quite an adult now, I have two grown sons and one little grandson. I am from Šiauliai region, I have been living in Norway since 2011.
My main activity is creating and administering websites/e-stores, and I am interested in many things - photography, food culture, sometimes I sit down at the sewing machine, pick up knitting needles or a needle.
I love repaired/recycled things - just to make it easier for our planet.

I'm not a professional chef/baker, but I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and my motto there is – Use your imagination!

I started my food blog recently, although I had the idea even before I moved to Norway.
I just kept discovering more important things and putting off the most interesting things.
But, with great support from my husband, I decided it was time - when else, if not now.

Weekly menu

Meal planning is an important step towards a balanced and sustainable diet. A well-planned menu helps you avoid impulsive, less healthy choices. Planning allows you to take care of all the necessary products in advance and saves time in your daily routine. Knowing what you will cook means you don’t have to think every day about “what to eat today”. This reduces stress and helps maintain a balanced diet.

Meal planning also helps reduce food waste by making your shopping list more targeted and reasonable. Knowing your weekly menu in advance allows you to use the same products in multiple meals, avoiding throwing away leftovers.

It's also financially beneficial - planned purchases allow you to avoid spontaneous, expensive snacks or unnecessary products. Planning helps you discover new recipes and encourages creativity in the kitchen, and allows you to involve the whole family in cooking, so there are fewer dissatisfied "I don't like it" faces.

I offer my own menu, as I do, but you can replace the dishes with your own favorites. I am not a dietitian, so I will not offer special menus for certain diets.

The menu doesn't have to be completely filled. Desserts aren't necessary every day, so some days I leave dessert recipes without them.

You can save the recipes on the website or the entire menu by registering, and later when you log in, you will find the saved recipes and menu.
