Ingredients

  • 4 onions
  • 2 spoons butter
  • 1 l water or broth, using broth, add less salt and spices, taste
  • 1 arb.sh. salt
  • ground pepper
  • Thyme
  • 1 arb.sh. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices bar
  • 4 handfuls grated cheese

Instructions

  • Peel and slice the onions and cut them into rings.

  • Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the fried onions, fry over a medium heat, stirring to prevent over-frying, for about 10 minutes.

  • Place the fried onions in a saucepan, add the water (or stock), salt, pepper and thyme and simmer for 20 minutes, adding the Worcestershire sauce.

  • Pour the cooked soup into heatproof dishes, top with a slice of toasted sweet potato and a handful of grated cheese.

  • Place in an oven preheated to 220℃ and bake for about 15 minutes.
